It was 2014 when we made the big decision to expand TUNE and open an office in Berlin. In 2015, I was given an incredible opportunity to move from my home in Tel Aviv, and help build out the team in a new city that I would quickly grow fond of and soon call home, in more than one way.
At the time, Berlin was filled with other start-ups, and still is. Like many of them, we were a small team with big dreams, pouring our time and passion-driven energy into establishing what the Berlin office is today. It feels more like a home than any office I’ve been to. Since 2015, we’ve not only grown into being a part of a company with ten offices around the globe, but we have been listed as one of Inc 5000’s fastest-growing private companies three years in a row. There’s something special about the people and office in Berlin. Hear from TUNErs themselves as we open a window into our quaint home.
“The TUNE Berlin office is a truly unique environment. It is the team that makes it so. Everyone is very dedicated to their work, but knows how to keep the atmosphere upbeat, cheerful, and fun. We are all from different places with different backgrounds, and thus have many stories and funny anecdotes to share. There are some great personalities here and lots of laughs. We work in a shared space so there is plenty of interaction and if you are ever stuck with anything work related, everyone is super helpful.” —Chris O’Shea, EMEA Marketing Manager
“What I find very cool about the Berlin office is the feeling that everyone here is proud to be a part of TUNE and represent TUNE in Berlin. This is one of the many things that brings us together. The team here is like a family — five days a week we live in this big, bright apartment together with our family dog Weisel. We do our weekly shopping, brew our coffees, celebrate birthdays together and relax in our living room on Friday afternoons. All the while, Weisel intentionally rolls his tennis ball under the sofas to have one of us come help him get it out. There is a good deal of hard working in this home. You hear constant keyboard typing, and it’s not unusual for both meeting rooms to be occupied for calls and meetings. However, between the hard work there is a lot of joking around, lovingly making fun of each other and an occasional all 90’s smash hits playlist.” —Malin Larsson, Senior Account Manager
“TUNE Berlin truly has amazing energy. Everybody here is focused, driven, and dedicated to what they’re doing. Just like Berlin itself, we are very diverse in our backgrounds, which makes for great stories and language lessons. As a team we plank every day, do yoga once a week, and make and enjoy lunch together.
Our office pup Weisel is always there for a cuddle or ball play in between the hard work. As a relatively new employee to the office, I felt super welcome from the start and accepted into the TUNE family with open arms.” —Anja Richter, Office Manager
“It’s definitely the culture here at TUNE. Great people attract great people and I love that this is reflected on the Berlin office as well, not just Seattle headquarters. Everyone cares and this nurturing environment allows the team members to express their individual strengths. Yes, and let’s not forget about some awesome perks, such as weekly yoga-in-the-office.” — Sofia Gamisonia, Sales Development Representative EMEA
“Apart from everyone being very professional at what they do, it’s always great to have some off-work time with a team: it can be a glass of wine on a Friday evening or sharing a meal or going for a funny team event or sharing yoga sessions experience.” — Ekaterina Matveeva, Account Manager
