Pinterest announced today that they’re launching Pinterest Web Analytics for their users. This new tool allows users (specifically businesses and bloggers) to track how many visitors are being driven to their sites from the widely popular pinboard-style site. Users can see how many users have pinned from their sites, the number of views each pin has, and how many users have been directed to their own sites from interest. And rumor has it that later this year, Pinterest may introduce “suggestions” for users based on the things users have already added to their boards. So long as you have a verified website, you can sign up for the tool today for free.

What does this have to do with apps, you ask? Not much really, but with our recent series on customer retention and, specifically, using social media to engage your users, we thought this would be great news to share with our readers and friends. If you have a website and are active on Pinterest, you should check it out; we’d love to hear what you think!
